Metro Minds PD Workshop for Teachers

Sydney Metro ABN 12 354 063 515 is a corporation constituted under the Transport Administration Act 1988 (NSW), located at Level 43, 680 George Street, Sydney, New South Wales 2000 (“Sydney Metro”).

By taking part in the “Metro Minds Professional Development Workshop” (“Workshop”), you agree to the following terms and conditions:
 

  1. The Workshop is a three (3) hour professional development course offered by Sydney Metro on “design-thinking process” relating to the “Metro Minds STEAM Challenge” for Stage 4 and Stage 5 teachers in New South Wales.
  2. Participation in the Workshop is free of charge and is part of Sydney Metro’s “FastTracking the Future Education Program”.
  3. Participation in the Workshop is by invitation only, at Sydney Metro’s sole discretion. You may be withdrawn from participation in the Workshop by Sydney Metro at any time, at Sydney Metro’s sole discretion.
  4. The Workshop will be hosted on (date) from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. The date and time of the event is subject to change.
  5. There are limited spaces available to participate in the Workshop and who occupies these spaces will be reviewed and determined by Sydney Metro on an eligible schools and first registered basis.
  6. If you are no longer able to attend the Workshop, please contact Sydney Metro via sydneymetroedu@transport.nsw.gov.au at least 48 hours prior to the Workshop to advise the same.
  7. The information provided by Sydney Metro in the Workshop is owned by, and is the intellectual property of, Sydney Metro. The information cannot be reproduced or replicated without written permission from Sydney Metro.
  8. The information provided by Sydney Metro in the Workshop should not be relied upon by participants.
  9. Sydney Metro is offering the opportunity for 15 public high schools to each apply for one (1) half-day teacher release (to the value of $350) reimbursed to their school (“Teacher Release Reimbursement”). In order to be eligible for the Teacher Release Reimbursement, the following criteria must be satisfied:
    1. The teacher must be a current Stage 4 or Stage 5 teacher working at a public high school within a 5 kilometre radius of Sydney Metro’s City & Southwest rail alignment (“eligible public high school”).
    2. The teacher must attend the Workshop with at least one (1) other teacher from the same eligible public high school.
    3. The teacher must be registered to participate in the Metro Minds STEAM Challenge in 2021.
    4. The teacher must have permission from, and have organised a half-day teacher release with, their eligible public high school to participate in the Workshop.
    5. Only one (1) teacher will be granted the Teacher Release Reimbursement per eligible public high school where a minimum of two (2) teachers from that eligible public high school attend the Workshop.
    6. The teacher nominated for the Teacher Release Reimbursement is not transferrable.
    7. The Teacher Release Reimbursement will be reviewed and awarded at Sydney Metro’s sole and absolute discretion.
  10. Teacher Release Reimbursements will be paid to 15 eligible public high schools within six (6) weeks following the completion of the Workshop.
  11. Private and independent high schools in the vicinity of Sydney Metro’s City & Southwest rail alignment are welcomed to participate in the Workshop.
  12. Teachers from private and independent schools are not eligible to apply for the Teacher Release Reimbursement.
  13. Each teacher and school that participates in the Workshop gives Sydney Metro consent to record the Workshop and to publish a recording of the Workshop (along with the names of the schools and/ or teachers who participated in the Workshop) on Sydney Metro’s website, Sydney Metro’s Facebook Page, social media accounts, on television, in print and electronic mainstream media, and other associated promotional materials which relate to the participation by the school and/ or teacher in the Workshop, without any further reference or payment or other compensation to that individual or school.
  14. Sydney Metro will deal with any personal information that is collected from individuals as part of the registration for the Workshop in accordance with the Information Protection Principles under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW) and Sydney Metro’s privacy policy, other than the matters agreed in clause 13 above.
  15. These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and Sydney Metro.
