Climb aboard the new Sydney Metro train at Sydney Festival - closed Monday 23 January
04.01.2017
Walking through a life-size new Metro train will be just one of the options for visitors when Sydney Metro takes part in Sydney Festival for the first time this year.
The 13-tonne full-scale model of the train’s front carriage will be on display, allowing visitors to look directly out the front of the fully-automated train.
Virtual reality goggles will also give visitors a ‘behind the scenes’ look at Sydney Metro, with the opportunity to watch a tunnel boring machine break through a wall of rock and to tour new state-of-the-art metro railway stations.
Children and families will have the opportunity to take part in Sydney Metro’s FastTracking the Future school holiday program to learn more about Australia’s biggest public transport project.
More than 300 children, parents and grandparents took part in the program at Castle Hill in the September school holidays.
Children will have the chance to explore Sydney Metro’s life-size train model and build their own skytrain bridge and train models.
